Celebrating Unity and Flavor at the Wine Festival

The Wine Festival of Kos returns with exceptional local wines from the island's vineyards, accompanied by unique delicacies and traditional dances. Residents and visitors came together once again to relish the island's distinct wine varieties.

The tradition of viticulture and winemaking in Kos dates back to ancient times. Traditional vineyards were mainly situated in the middle of the island, in the municipal unit of Dikaios, on the northern slopes of the mountain. Following an almost complete extinction due to the residents' shift towards tourism, today the vibrant activity of wine making revives its former glory with various vineyards preserving its legacy.

Nowadays , vineyards are flourishing anew, with most of Kos' modern wineries located there. Attendees of the festival at the Evangelistria amphitheater have the opportunity to relish the unique wine flavors accompanied by traditional delights.

Sip, savor and celebrate while witnessing unforgettable dance performances and traditional instrument players that invoke memories of bygone eras for those in attendance.

But why should you attend Kos' wine festival? The answer is simple: As glasses clink and laughter mingles, a unique connection blossoms between those who call the land home and those who have come to savor its flavors. The festival becomes a bridge, not only between exquisite wines and eager palates, but also between cultures, stories, and the beauty of human connection.

The event will be held on August 26, at the village Evangelistria and hosted by the Educational Association of Asfendiou "Theocritus".
